What’s the problem? You would still start with Graven Cairns. Either Mountain or Swamp would work as your first land, or second with Graven Cairns. But yeah, punchline

I was saying M10 will compliment Ravnica, not replace it, in Extended. Onslaught duals are goners automatically.

Hey, Im not sure if you were planning on testing it further but I really enjoy playing the naya based cascade build you worked on a couple posts ago. Do you plan on improving on it or going over it further in the future?

I don’t think the new M10 lands will replace the Ravnica cycle dual lands in Extended for two reasons:

1)They don’t have basic land types and are therefore not viable for the Onslaught fetchlands or other search spells (except for mediocre searchers like Sylvan Scrying).

2)The condition for having them come into play untapped is more difficult to satisfy. You won’t always have a hand that has basics in it. How unexciting is it to open on a hand of a couple M10 lands and no basics with your Zoo deck? With the Ravnica lands, you always (almost) have the resource you need for them come into play untapped (life). I think the greater chance that you can get screwed by top-decking an M10 land instead of a Ravnica dual land will make them much less playable.

So I’m reading along about 2-drop Sygg and 3-drop Ram-Gang, and trying to figure out how the new duals help that at all. Then the punchline.

Yes these duals do seem ready for another meta in another time. Whether they will herald that meta or just wait for it, we’ll see.
