I agree that this guy will probably find a place in BWG standard lists for a little while. Also, I got my copy of Deckade in the mail today, so I'll be reading about those tournament reports soon. I can't wait!

I actually think this guy has potential. Maybe I just love GWB decks with lots of removal too much [anyone else have that vice?], but awesome mana won't always be free in Standard. He may get there in the fall, but definitely not a world of Reflecting Pools.

Well, it IS good. However, the five mana mark and lack of evasion prevents it from playing Fledgling Dragon in beatdown decks and co-existing in nearly every format with Broodmate Dragon is going to keep it out of control. Lord of Extinction is Overbeing of Myth or Rakdos Pit Dragon: it'll be good, just not good enough. I bet it'll probably find it's way into some successful lists, but it's surrounded by so many superior creatures that it probably won't ever be the right one. Maybe it'll find it's place in Build Your Own Block. If it's */* = cards in graveyards while it's in other zones than play (I'm not certain if it would be, but I seem to remember that, at least at one point, that was the ruling on Tarmogoyf) it'll might be the big dumb creature of choice to remove with a Sutured Ghoul. If, you know, anyone would actually want to do that anymore.

I don't know that Mr. Extinction here is even good, really, so much as simply "big." I don't think I'd play it in the place of Colossus (pro-black), Nath (disruptive) or Dragon (two dudes). I mean, it promises to be a single-turn game-ender in the late game for a control deck, but it's otherwise a really bad topdeck, being just a big guy, and a single one at that.
